Spandex jeans??

I am thinking of purchasing some jeans online. It says they are 98% cotton and 2% polyurethane. Is polyurethane the same a spandex. I hate jeans that stretch so i need to know. Also does anyone know if 7 for all mankind jeans stretch as much as bebe jeans? Thanks!
